Product safety and recalls

Defective vehicles or accessories can be dangerous for people. Therefore it is necessary to remedy deficiencies. What can you, as manufacturer or importer of vehicles or accesories, do for safety? You can find the answers to all your questions at KBA (KBA = Kraftfahrt-Bundesamt (German Federal Motor Transport Authority) "Code on the Implementation of the Equipment and Product Safety Act (GPSG) for Road Vehicles". This Code of Practice also describes product safety measures (e.g. recalls) in accordance with Article 8 para. 2 of the EC-Directive 2001/95/EC (General Product Safety Directive (GPSD)) for Germany.
