Special KBA regulations and recommendations

In addition to the Explanations to "Report on CoP" , the following regulations and recommendations shall be applied:

Information about duties of an approval holder

Providing a procedure “Report on CoP” (for Initial assessment), the manufacturer to be assessed must be informed about duties of an approval holder.

The designation body recommends to refer to the „ Information sheet on Initial Assessment (pdf 242-KB)“. Ideally this Information sheet should be handed out.

Detection of product non-conformities relevant to the type approval

Generally, the procedure “Report on CoP” is restricted to evaluation of production and testing procedures. Normally for this purpose, also results of product testing by the manufacturer must be checked. Thus it is possible that the assessor gets information indicating non-conformities relevant to the type approval. In this case, the KBA must be informed.
