Information technology at the Kraftfahrt-Bundesamt (KBA)
KBA IT is characterised by a complex and individual range of tasks, which is far more than just classic office IT. With approximately 130 IT employees for operation and further development, KBA IT contributes significantly to the success of the authority and is an essential part of the authority's strategy.
Due to its central position as an information service provider for all aspects of motor vehicles and their users, KBA-IT develops the individual specialised procedures itself. Software is designed and developed primarily in Java and with data warehouse techniques in projects by a team of about 45 employees. In addition to the use of modern tools, the use of agile methods is an essential success factor, especially Scrum with its sprint philosophy using backlogs and the roles of Scrum Master and Product Owner.
From the internally and externally oriented service desks, IT consulting, Windows, Unix and database system technologies to the administration of networks and the production processing of data, information technology offers highly interesting tasks for experienced and committed IT specialists.
Due to the extensive range of tasks in information technology, the KBA is an attractive employer for IT specialists (see also ("Working in the KBA“).
