Advisory Board at the Kraftfahrt-Bundesamt

In 2018, an advisory board was established at the Kraftfahrt-Bundesamt (KBA). It has an advisory function and is intended to support the KBA in the fulfilment of its tasks.

In particular, it aims to provide an even broader knowledge base for the KBA's testing activities in the context of granting type approvals and Market Surveillance.

On 25th September 2018, the advisory board held its first constituent meeting. During this meeting, all members of the advisory board were appointed by the president of the KBA. The advisory board also adopted a rules of procedure.

In addition to the chairman Prof. Dr. Karsten Lemmer, Deutsches Zentrum für Luft- und Raumfahrt e. V. (DLR), and the deputy chairman Ms. Marion Jungbluth, Verbraucherzentrale Bundesverband e. V. (VZBV), the advisory board includes experts from scientific institutions, universities, federal ministries as well as economic, transport, environmental and consumer associations.

The work on the advisory board is voluntary. It meets twice a year.
