At the beginning of 2017, I read in an article that the KBA was going to set up its own test laboratory to carry out independent, diverse vehicle tests as part of market monitoring. I didn’t want to miss the opportunity to help set up and shape this new task at the KBA, so I applied to the KBA at the time - and was successful. It was an exciting time in which the agile team of the test laboratory, which includes engineers, software specialists and technicians, closely accompanied the development. For several years I worked in market surveillance for software analysis in vehicles. This included, above all, the testing of control strategies for exhaust aftertreatment systems. Today, I am responsible for the test planning for the chassis dynamometers in our laboratory. The future tasks and challenges of market surveillance, from testing electric vehicles to driver assistance systems to autonomous driving, promise to continue to be interesting tasks here at the KBA.
