National Type Approval for NOx reduction systems
The Federal Ministry for Digital and Transport (BMDV) has issued testing and certification requirements for the retrofitting of diesel vehicles of different uses.
You can find them here (only in German).
On this basis, the Kraftfahrt-Bundesamt (KBA) grants national Type Approvals.
Questions about retrofit systems, and in particular the scope of application, should be addressed to the manufacturer concerned.
The KBA is available to manufacturers for questions about the application and the approval process.

National Type Approval for NOx reduction systems for retrofitting buses/large passenger vehicles
The KBA granted the following national Type Approval pursuant to § 22 StVZO (only in German ) in conjunction with the Funding Guidelines for the retrofitting of diesel buses in emission classes EURO III, IV, V and EEV in local public passenger transport auf the 21th February 2018 for NOx reduction systems with increased reduction performance:

National Type Approval for NOx reduction systems for retrofitting passenger cars
The KBA has granted the following national Type Approvals pursuant to § 22 StVZO (only in German ) in conjunction with the Requirements for systems which promotes the reduction of nitrogen oxide (NOx- reduction systems) with high reduction performance to comply with an emission value of less than 270 mg/km NOx for vehicles with compression-ignition engines (NOxMS-vehicle)

Which vehicles can be retrofitted?
With the help of your registration certificate Part I (ZB I), you can check in the “Rechercheliste der Pkw-Hardeware-Nachrüstsysteme” whether there is a suitable retrofit system for your vehicle. If you have any questions or vehicle specific features, please contact the manufacturer (contact details in the list) of the retrofit system. If you have any questions regarding the ABE 17315 and the official vehicle type (box D.2 of the ZB I) and the type approval number (box K of the ZB I) to the ABE 17313 and 17318, please contact Baumot Technologie GmbH.

National Type Approval for NOx reduction systems for retrofitting light craftsman and delivery vehicles
The KBA has granted the following national Type Approval pursuant to § 22 StVZO (only in German ) in conjunction with the Funding Guidelines for the retrofitting of commercial light craftsman and delivery vehicles of categories N1 and N2 with compression ignition engines with max. mass of 2,8t up to 3,5t in pollutant classes EURO 3,4,5 and 6 with nitrogen oxide control systems of the 10th December 2018.

The KBA granted following national Type Approval pursuant to § 22 StVZO (only in German ) in conjunction with the Funding Guidelines for the retrofitting of commercial heavy craftsman and delivery vehicles of categories N1 and N2 by compression ignition engines with a max. permissible mass of 3,5t up to 7,5t of pollutant classes EURO I, II, III, IV, V and EEV with nitrogen oxide reduction systems of the 28th Nov. 2018 for NOx reduction systems with increased reduction performance.

The KBA granted following national Type Approvals pursuant to § 22 StVZO (only in German) in conjunction with the Funding Guidelines for the retrofitting of commercial vehicles by compression ignition engines with a max. permissible mass exceeding 3,5t of pollutant classes EURO I, II, III, IV, V and EEV of the 15th Nov. 2018 for NOx reduction systems with increased reduction power.
