Central Traffic Information System - ZEVIS

Data from the Central Vehicle Register (ZFZR), Register of Driver Fitness (FAER), the Central Register of Driving Licenses (ZFER), Register of Professional Drivers Qualification (BQR) and the Register of Tachograph Cards (FKR) can be retrieved online by authorized agencies via the Central Traffic Information System ZEVIS. In addition, the transmission of data to the central registers (except FAER) is also possible online in dialog.

Around 400,000 inquiries to the central registers are processed daily around the clock via ZEVIS. With the Central Information System, the Kraftfahrt-Bundesamt (KBA) supports, simplifies and accelerates the work of the federal and state police forces, the customs services, the driving license, registration and fine authorities, as well as the rescue control centers, the authorities issuing tachograph cards and control authorities, the tax authorities and bailiffs, the agencies collecting freeway and trunk road tolls, and the service company of the German Insurance Association

ZEVIS calls at the KBA are used for the prosecution of criminal offenses and road traffic violations, during traffic controls, to avert threats to public safety, administrative measures in the field of vehicle registration and driver licensing, the issuance of EU tachograph cards, and to perform a variety of other tasks.

The following data can be retrieved with the Central Traffic Information System:

Last but not least, the Central Information System benefits the citizen. By direct retrieval, for example, the authorities responsible for registering a vehicle, issuing or extending a driver's license, or issuing a driver card can obtain the information they need from the central registers in the fastest possible way.
