Task of the Central Register of Driving Licences
The Central Register of Driving Licences provides information on all driving licences issued in Germany since 1 January 1999 and the driving licences issued for them.
The information is provided nationally via ZEVIS and internationally via RESPER.
Information is provided to agencies that have the following tasks:
- prosecution of criminal offences, enforcement or execution of sentences
- Prosecution of administrative offences, enforcement of penalty notices in road traffic
- Administrative measures relating to driving licences (e.g. granting of a driving licence, extension to additional classes, replacement driving licence, new granting after revocation)
- Traffic and border controls, roadside checks
